It's been rainy lately, and it was Saturday. And it had been a long week for both John and me. We miss pursuing our artistic passions like we used to do full time, so it was a perfect day to have an artists' retreat day. We started by recording this song, "Hallelujah," originally sung by Jeff Buckley. I remember hearing the profound sadness in this song when I first watched "Shrek" and being so moved by it. And then I couldn't stop harmonizing...so we had to record it.
The rest of the day was beautiful. Liturgy of the hours, confession, ballet (yes, it was John's idea and he has some good natural talent! :P), and sketching. It made the whole following week better too. I recommend feeding yourself artistically; you will notice the difference in every area of your life!
