Patron Saints/Famous Saints of the Community

Our Lady, in honor of Mary's docility: Gratia Plena ~ Full of Grace
Good St. Joseph our Patron Saint and trustworthy provider
St. Therese of Lisieux for her example of the little way!

Charism/Apostolate

Gratia Plena (Full of Grace) was founded in the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas to support Vocations to Religious Life. Adult Catholic women who feel they may be called to Consecrated Life have an opportunity to live in community with other women for a period of at least 3 months, up to a year or so, while deepening their Catholic faith, growing in holiness, and discerning with greater clarity God's call for their lives.

History

Every year on May 1st we recall and celebrate the marvelous sequence of events that occurred 3+ years ago to bring about Gratia Plena House of Discernment for Women. In March of 2017, after 9 months of an exhaustive search for the perfect starter home, our Board of Directors began to pray a special novena with confidence in the intercession of St. Joseph. Within 30 days of his Feast Day, we had the option of not just ONE but TWO homes to choose from. Simultaneously, documents to incorporate as a Nonprofit Organization were finalized and filed...Gratia Plena was officially recognized on May 1st, 2017 ~ Our Founder's Day is The Feast of St. Joseph the Worker!
"If the Lord does not build the house, in vain do its builders labor."
Psalm 127:1

Prayer Life

Gratia Plena is a home that is conducive to discerning God’s will. This means we love to pray and as a household we're dedicated to daily prayer, both personal and in common. The prayer schedule is designed to support good daily habits and a healthy personal rule of life. Daily Mass and Eucharistic Adoration are encouraged too! Our mission is to help you discover the next right step in your discernment!

Traditions

Living at Gratia Plena provides an opportunity to embrace simplicity and begin to detach oneself from worldly conveniences, distractions and attachments, a form of poverty...in imitation of The Holy Family. Our Ministry Team and Staff (made up of Vocations Directors, Liaisons, Advisors, and a Resident Director) assist and support discerners so they can concentrate on their prayer life, visit Religious Communities and/or volunteer locally to experience a variety of Apostolates.
